September 2025

At the end of September, the annual Research Night took place at Ceitec. Visitors got the chance to see and even try our plant transformation method, play fun games about the many forms of wealth plants can offer us, and share their wishes for what they would like to gather from a magic tree.

Most people wished for love and happiness, while some students surprised us with dreams of finishing their studies and publishing lots of papers in top journals!

August 2025

At the end of August, Oussama, Teresa, Vendula, Samia, and Helene attended the Plant Biology CS conference in Bratislava, where they presented their research on embryo and seed development as well as plant hormones.

July 2025

Our lab went on a group trip where we took a boat ride on the dam Prýgl ;-) and then hiked around it. Some of us even went for a swim. We really enjoyed the day!

Matej successfully completed his Master's studies by defending his thesis under the supervision of Veronika. Congratulations!

As a member of the TANGENC project, Veronika presented a talk entitled "CRISPR-Based Genome Editing in Brassicaceae Using Tissue Culture Systems" at the WP5 group meeting held in Telč.

February 2025

Unni successfully defended his doctoral thesis, entitled "Long-term high temperatures affect seed maturation and seed coat integrity in Brassica napus", under the supervision of Helene.

We attended the AuxCentric conference in the Netherlands, where Vendula gave a talk on using hairy root tissue cultures to study hormonal responses in Brassicaceae.
