During the SIP of Science lecture at CEITEC, Pavel introduced new approaches to plant genome editing using the famous molecular scissors, CRISPR/Cas.

We attended the Auxin 2026 conference in Portugal, where Helene, Samia, and Veronika presented our research on the role of auxin in somatic embryogenesis and our studies of auxin in oilseed rape.

As every year, our team took part in the nationwide Research Night event, introducing visitors to the biotechnologies used in our laboratory and demonstrating plant regeneration.

Our lab went on a trip to Mariánské údolí. Despite the very hot weather, everyone successfully completed the hike (thanks in part to the restaurant being open! )

Katka has received a Career Restart Grant from Masaryk University (MUNI) to study small heat shock proteins in Arabidopsis. Congratulations!

From a record number of applications this year, Pavel won the Brno PhD Talent competition with his project on genome editing in Brassicaceae. Congratulations!

At the end of November, CEITEC hosted the TANGENC (TowArds Next GENeration Crops) project conference, where Unni, Vendula, and Oussama presented their work on oilseed rape and Arabidopsis.
